The photo shows minor league baseball teams the Brooklyn Cyclones and the Staten Island Yankees entertaining fans with their gameplay. It’s the kind of occasion many event and sports Photographers in Providence RI, enjoy covering. With no Major League Baseball team of its own, fans in Providence mostly go out in support of the Boston Red Sox. Plus, minor league team, and Red Sox affiliates, the PawSox (or Pawtucket Red Sox) is pretty close by. Actually, Providence natives are well into sports of all kinds – both traditional and contemporary. The city holds the distinction of having been host to the very first edition of ESPN's X Games. (Although, back then, in 1995, it was called the Extreme Games.) The Providence Bruins help to keep the spirit of ice-hockey alive in the city and they are currently a part of the American Hockey League. Covering all aspects of sport is a big part of what Photographers in Providence RI do. The city is both Rhode Island’s capital and its most populous city. In fact, Providence is the third most populous city within the entire New England area, with Boston and Worcester, both in Massachusetts, taking first and second place, respectively. Quite a bit of that population is made up of sports enthusiasts who enjoy nothing more than spending an evening at an event like the one pictured above. Expert photographers, like myself, appreciate the value of spectators to the atmosphere of a game and the spirit of a sport. So, while it is easy to get caught up in the action on the field, I never forget to mix in shots of the fans. I like to include images of them as they arrive and settle in for the promise of big fun; during the nail-biting moments that keep them on the edge of their seats; and of course as they react to the outcome of the game – win or lose.
