When you are in the business of Portrait Photography in New Jersey, it is an inescapable fact that at some point the famed New Jersey shoreline will feature in your work. The large coastal region that bears the name “Jersey Shore” is a 141-mile stretch that takes in over 40 communities along with water parks, amusement parks and several boardwalks with arcades. Not to be outdone, of course, is the Atlantic Ocean itself which makes all of the vibrant happenings taking place on the Jersey Shore possible. New Jerseyans and a multitude of tourists from around the globe enjoy going "down the shore" for the chance to take part in a host of activities on the water. These include jet skiing, paddle boarding and parasailing. Venturing out to sea also gives you chance to enjoy relaxing and romantic sunset cruises, as well as invigorating and exciting outings for dolphin watching and whale watching. Taking a sailboat out along the New Jersey shoreline, however, has its own particular thrills that for many, are simply unmatched – a sentiment the young man in this portrait seems to share. There is a look of readiness in his eyes, mixed generously with confidence, pride and a sense of adventure. The energy he exudes has been superbly captured by the camera’s lens to the point that it is not hard to imagine him springing into action – him and his unfailing sailboat taking on all of the winds and waves that the Jersey Shore buffets them with. Being involved in Portrait Photography in New Jersey always presents me with the opportunity to capture images such as this. Ones that show the zest for living that New Jerseyans are well-known for. It is a part of the reason I eagerly anticipate each new assignment that takes me there.
