Photographer Boston

There are many aspects of working as a Photographer in Boston that mirror the rewarding experiences I have had working in several countries across 6 continents. That may due to the fact that regardless of their superficial differences, societies are really very similar. Each society’s development, for example, is closely linked to growth in knowledge and how that knowledge is used to the benefit of citizens. The far-reaching implications of medical research is an illustration of this. Quite often, the findings of medical research hold the key to a better quality of life for a country’s residents. Within the US, there is a wealth of facilities dedicated to medical research and many of those can be found in Boston. The Longwood Medical and Academic Area with its myriad of universities, colleges, hospitals and health centers, is one example and it is a location I am familiar with as a Photographer. In Boston, medical research facilities are usually closely linked to one or more universities. The arrangement is repeated in other countries, as well. The photograph shows Doctors Fatima Al Anouti and Justin Thomas, Assistant Professors at Zayed University’s College of Arts and Sciences in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).The Doctors’ research focuses on vitamin D deficiency and its relationship to depression among the UAE population. Undoubtedly, their findings will be of huge benefit to the society. Their research is sponsored by the philanthropic Emirates Foundation and is conducted in collaboration with Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) which is very much like Boston’s Longwood Medical and Academic Area, in that it is home to a wide range of medical facilities. Interestingly, there is yet another link to the US here, as the SKMC is managed by Cleveland Clinic, a multi-specialty academic hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.

Location: Boston, MA.
