Photography New York

My experiences in commercial Photography in New York regularly involve working for educational institutions or with bodies that are affiliated with education in some way. Education is an important driver of social development – a connection that the state of New York knows well. It is shown in the early childhood to tertiary levels and also encompasses a thrust for lifelong learning. Take New York City, for instance, when compared to the rest of the US, it has the highest enrollment of tertiary level students. Near the turn of the century, NYC boasted three out of every five Manhattan residents as a college graduate. Plus, quarter of all residents had a postgraduate degree, making NYC one of the American cities with the highest concentration of highly educated people. When it comes to research at the tertiary level, the universities in New York certainly stand with the very best university from around the globe, one such being the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The photo shows a student of Masdar, Faruk Ahmed, stepping out of an underground electric car as he makes his way to classes. The university is served by a fleet of these vehicles as a part of its thrust in the development of sustainable environmental building techniques. The Masdar Institute contributes to Abu Dhabi’s distinction as a leader in education and research in the region. For its part, the state of New York is one of the leaders in tertiary level education in the US. I am proud to say I began my journey into Photography in New York as I am a graduate Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Western New York where I got my Associate of Science in Photography degree before moving to the Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School where I pursued a Master of Science degree in Multimedia. (In-between these two, I attended Western Kentucky University where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in History.)
