Industrial Photographers in CT get to witness, firsthand, the contributions of various forms of industry to the state’s economic progress. The manufacturing industry, for instance, has been at the heart of Connecticut’s development since before the American Revolution. In fact, Connecticut’s manufacturing industry played a prominent role in the Revolutionary War – a turning point in US history. The state was a major supplier to the Continental Army, earning the epithet - “Arsenal of the Nation.” Since then, Connecticut has flourished to achieve the status of being one of the most industrialized states in the nation. Today, factories in Connecticut are leading producers of weapons, jet engines, helicopters, sewing machines, motors, hardware and tools, silverware, clocks, locks and submarines. Industries link regions within the country, in the same way that they link countries around the world. One very good example of this is the petroleum industry. Connecticut isn’t a producer of petroleum (having no petroleum reserves) nor does it refine petroleum. Refined petroleum products arrive from out-of-state via the coastal ports of Bridgeport, New Haven and New London. They are then distributed inland with the aid of a New Haven, Connecticut to Springfield, Massachusetts pipeline and by barges which travel along the Connecticut River into central Connecticut. The photo references the petroleum industry with a look at the operations of the Dubai Supply Authority (DUSUP) in the United Arab Emirates. The location is a floating Liquefied Natural Gas regasification facility of which Shell Oil Company is both advisor and main LNG supplier.Shell, in fact, has the largest global LNG supply portfolio of any international oil and gas company. Not many Photographers in CT can claim this kind of experience gained from working around the globe, but it is an element I bring to the service I provide to my clients. Keywords: Shell LNG (6).
