The ability to come up with new ideas and new solutions to problems is, quite often, the “better mousetrap” that all who enter the world of business are trying to create. As a Commercial Photographer in Washington DC, I see many examples of innovation changing the way the world works. While this inventiveness and originality can at times be spontaneous, most often it comes from years of hard work dedicated to research and development. Without a doubt, universities and the bright minds they nurture play a vital role in the kind of on-going research that leads to innovation. One university which definitely takes this role seriously is the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). This affiliate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is dedicated to research and, in particular, the type of research that can lead to better use of the world’s resources. Among the features on its $1 billion self-powered campus are subterranean electrical cars which provide transportation throughout the campus. To make best use of desert winds, the campus is erected on an elevated platform and has a massive wind tower which helps to keep the courtyard cool. Another impressive feature is the Institute’s array of solar panels which shown in this image. The panels generate sufficient power to cover all that the university needs. It’s a part of the institution’s mandate to lead innovation in environmental building techniques. Showcasing elements such as these is a big part of what Commercial Photographer in Washington DC and elsewhere is all about. Clients often need these types of images to help them get the word out about the strides their organization in making in their particular industry. This is where an expert in commercial photography, such as myself, steps up to the plate!
