Like other UAE Corporate Photography experts, I know that the country takes the business of business very seriously. It is an attitude that is seen throughout the seven Emirates but is definitely more pronounced in the capital city of Abu Dhabi, as well as in the largest and most populous city, Dubai. Corporations from an array of industries can flourish here and each industry tends to make very good use of the facilities available for hosting conventions, fairs, conferences, festivals and a variety of other activities related to their specific fields. The Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) is one such location. I have had the pleasure of photographing many events held there for several of my UAE Corporate Photography clients. The ADNEC is a world-class exhibitions facility with an area of over 130,000 square meters of which more than is 75,000 square meters is interconnected and adaptable event floor space. Apart from that, there is also some 56,040 square meters of outdoor space which takes in the Grandstand display area, the beautiful ADNEC Marina and the ideally located Capital Plaza. The accompanying photo was taken at the ADNEC during a staging of the annual Abu Dhabi International Book Fair. Pictured is His Highness Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, whose visit marks the opening of the Fair. The Fair represents the city’s commitment to the growth of the publishing industry with the region and, in fact, around the world. Books are very much like photography, as both provide information, entertainment and a way to preserve both knowledge and culture. The importance of books to all ages can never be over-emphasized, and certainly, the enjoyment of books at an early age has long been regarded as an important part of a child’s development. That may be why the Fair includes specific programs to encourage children’s creativity and love of reading.
