The best New York Photographers very often get the opportunity to work at events of global importance that include dignitaries from around the world. Events of this kind included the Libya Contact Group meetings which saw representatives from various member countries gathering to discuss matters of importance to the Libyan people. The photo shows Hillary Clinton, then US Secretary of State, at a press conference following the Libya Contact Group meeting held in Abu Dhabi (the first two meetings having taken place in Doha, Qatar and Rome, Italy). Quite often, New York Photographers, like myself, at these events have been hired by newspapers seeking to get top-quality pictures to publish with an article on the event. I have had a great deal of experience in these kinds of situations during my long career as a photographer. Working as a freelance photojournalist, I have been very proud to see my work in publications which include The New York Times, Washington Post Sunday Magazine, Time, Newsweek and National Geographic Al Arabia. One exciting aspect of being a part of the type of event photography that focuses on influential persons and world leaders, is that you often get to travel to various countries to cover events that they are a part of. For instance, during my time working as a staff photographer with The National, my camera and I had the awesome adventure of travelling throughout Africa, the Middle East and India – for three whole years. It was a blast! I have retained some wonderfully enduring pictures and memories of those times. All of those awesome experiences now come to bear on the work I currently do, be it in Wedding Photography, Sports Photography or any of the other niches I specialize in.
