Editorial Photographer NYC

For a freelance Editorial Photographer, NYC is one of the places that holds a wealth of chances for work – that is, if you are good at what you do! When you are, work seems to find you instead of you constantly having to ply your wares in the hopes of attracting offers. You become like a prestigious university – sought-after by many and having the privilege to select who to accept. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is one such university. It is a private research university that collaborates with other tertiary institutions, often assisting with their academic program development. Among MIT’s affiliates is the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). That institution is also very prestigious, accepting only the brightest and best minds to become a part of its faculty and student body. Masdar Institute states its ultimate goal as “to become a world-class research-driven graduate-level university, focusing on advanced energy and sustainable technologies.” To this end, the use of renewable forms of energy is a focal point of the university’s operation. Masdar Institute also strives for its $1 billion, self-powered campus to maintain the “lowest possible ecological footprint” and to be a “living laboratory” for its students. Assistant Dean of Research, Scott Kennedy, is shown in the foreground of this photograph. He is one of the many brilliant faculty members working to ensure that the Masdar Institute achieves its goals. The wind tower in the background of this photograph is just one component of the university’s independence. The entire university stands on a raised platform, enabling it to make better use of the desert winds. Masdar Institute also boasts a fleet of subterranean electrical cars. I think this university and Editorial Photographer in NYC definitely have something in common - self-sufficiency!
