As a Boston Headshot Photographer, I know a single picture can never truly convey all the facets of a person – people are much too complex for that. However, while different aspects of a person’s personality will come to the forefront in each new portrait, their underlying traits will remain the same. Capturing those traits is what being one of the best Boston Headshot Photographers is all about. In this headshot of Stellan Lind, one such underlying trait seems to the playfulness behind his eyes – and the camera’s lens has caught it well. You get the feeling it will always be there no matter where you find him or what he is doing – even when he’s dressed in a toga and walking among gladiators in a hippodrome. (Yes, you read that right!) Lind, a Swede, is the founder and chairman of the Jerash Heritage Company, Jerash being a large city in Jordan which dates back to ancient times. Much of the original city fell into ruin but recent excavations have exposed some wonderful structures that still exit there. Once such structure is the hippodrome – used for chariot and horse races. With a capacity of 15,000 spectators, it was one of the smallest hippodromes in the Roman Empire, and had just 10 starting gates instead of the usual 12. So, how did a connection between Lind, a Swedish gentleman, and Jerash, an ancient city in Jordan, come about? We can thank the 1959 epic classic Ben-Hur for that! Lind went to see the movie in Stockholm one evening in 1977. He came away with a determination to recreate the intensity of the chariot races and gladiator competitions depicted. That’s exactly what the Jerash Heritage Company has been doing for several years now. Daily shows are held in the hippodrome, featuring chariot races, legionaries’ battle tactics and gladiatorial fights. It is all done with amazing attention to detail – such as in the construction of the chariots and the design of the gladiators’ outfits.
